NoPhone – Focus & App Blocker ("we", "our", "app") helps users reduce screen time, build healthier habits, and stay focused. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

No personally identifiable information:
We do NOT collect or store personal data such as name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, messages, or files.

Anonymous analytics:
We use Statsig to understand how users interact with the app and improve performance. Only anonymous, aggregated usage data is collected.

Examples of anonymous data collected:

App opens and session counts
Feature usage events
Challenge start/finish events
Interaction events (navigation, permissions)
Device info (model, Android version, SDK)
App version and build type
General usage statistics

We do NOT collect:

Personal identity information
Messages, photos, files, or screen content
Blocked app lists stored on our servers
Precise location data

2. Permissions We Use and Why

The app requests permissions only for core functionality:

Accessibility Service: Detect selected apps and show blocking overlays. We do not read screen content or personal data.
Usage Access: Measure app usage locally to enforce limits and show reports.
Display Over Other Apps: Show focus challenge and block screens.
Notifications: Send reminders, alerts, and motivational messages.
Exact Alarms: Schedule focus sessions and timers.
Device Admin (optional): Prevent accidental uninstall during hard challenge.
Boot / AutoStart: Restore active challenges after device restart.
QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES: Allow users to select apps to block. App list is processed locally and never uploaded.

3. How Data Is Stored

Local storage:
Challenge settings, blocked apps, timers, and progress are stored locally on your device.

Analytics storage:
Anonymous analytics from Statsig may be stored securely on their servers.

Crash reporting:
Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports for stability improvements. These reports contain no personal data.

4. Third-Party Services

Statsig – anonymous analytics and feature testing
Firebase Crashlytics – crash reporting and diagnostics

These services operate under their own privacy policies and only receive anonymized data. We do not sell, rent, or share user data for advertising.

5. Children's Privacy

NoPhone does not knowingly collect personal data from children. Since no personal information is collected, the app can be used by families. Parental guidance is recommended.

6. Your Rights & Choices

You can clear app data anytime from device settings
You can uninstall the app to remove all local data
Permissions can be revoked anytime in system settings

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect data stored on-device and transmitted to analytics providers. However, no system is completely secure.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when app features or legal requirements change. Continued use of the app indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
